Calming Corner in Classroom

Using a Calming Corner in the Classroom

Do you have a calming corner in your classroom?

My classroom calming corner is used every day by my students. They understand that it is a safe space for them to go when they are feeling big emotions.

I make it easy to use with

-Instructions & Reflection Sheets (Click here for this resource on TpT)

-a sensory bin  (Click here for my favorite sensory bin on Amazon)

-a timer

-a private space

Students use the 5 minute timer to track their time and then they either complete the reflection sheet or reflect privately with me. This space has saved many students from potential meltdowns, conflict with others, and alone time on hard days.

Additional tip~!  Teach your students about Zones of Regulation to help them better understand their feelings and strategies to get back to the green “ready to learn” zone.
